  • identify your individual risk of bias by determining whether you have a tendency towards racial comity, ambivalence, animosity or racial antagonism
  • identify the origins of unconscious bias when confronted with stereotypes in the clinical setting
  • better understand the way stereotypes may influence your health care decision making
  • better understand how stereotypes may affect how your patients communicate with you independent of your race or ethnicity
  • identify which patients are at highest risk for racial trauma in the clinical setting and the opportunity to utilize toolkits and strategies for introducing this topic with patients
  • identify a framework for avoiding racial hostility and animosity in the clinical setting among co-workers and administration
